Check out if they seem to be digging holes in the sand.
When breeding they become darker just like that... And the time of their breeding is about know (march-april)!!!!! you are going to be a grandpa....
You muts take the others out to another tank and leave the breeding couple alone.

It just turns out you got luck and you did things right, I happens somethines, rare but not unlikely.
The guy to whom I bought my reds from told me the same when i asked hem how he had accomplished to breed the reds:
"It just happened man, somehow I did things right and P's happened to breed in my tank....."

god if it breeds and i have bunch Baby ones its gonna be Tight!!!!!!! make some money ............ maybe i should take my others to another tank or.??? i have two about same size about 8" and about 9"......maybe they can make something happen
breeding redbellies is more like breeding convicts......It's hard not to get them to breed....
Def looks like breeding coloration....Look for the "dance" and digging......Pairing should be pretty easy to tell as well....
