Sorry for the lost. Silver arowana is a big jumper. Mine always injured his head, trying to jump out. In future put something heavy on the tank cover to prevent your fish from jumping out.

the canopy on my tank is about 19lbs, plus i have eggcrate under it covering any place for an aro to jump out..i just checked and the canopy was pushed back a bit..which leaves a space about .5"..how the hell did he aim himself that well..incredible..now i'm stuck with a silver who has grown 2 inches in the past 6 months..and it eats more than the now dead one ate..

i even keep the water level low..

You can never imagine what they are capable off. Even such a small gap, he can jump out. Very unfortunate for you.

For the slow growing Arowana you have left, I understood your feeling. I also face the same situation. Previously, I have 2 yellow tail arowana. 1 grow faster and even bigger than the other although I bought the slow growing one 1 year earlier.

my first slver which was about 8 inches jumped through a 2 inch wide gap he made by constantly hitting the top...
