Two "fun" threads in the past few days.

In one, I explicitly called out the OP for over-stepping and speaking for all of us rather than for himself. It devolves into nonsense, though it might rightly be argued that my response was nonsense from the start. Frankly, I don't consider dislike for JDM tanks controversial, but apparently the name-less/face-less mods that closed the thread disagree. View here, since it isn't deleted, unlike other threads the mods dislike:

And then the second. I start with an esoteric interpretation of a very real issue in the hobby, continue the esoteric crap, finally break character, and we promptly get locked. In this case, the topic of the thread is very-much a golden-cow in the hobby. It MUST be best for the hobby to increase in skill. I lay out a variety of logic-threads (right or wrong) that show this might not be the case. Locked: https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/the-case-for-being-a-poor-fish-keeper.692981/

Can't we just let these issues hash out? I know this is Li's playground and we play by his rules, but I don't see where the rules have been violated.

Can we get a reason threads are locked? Why are some threads locked and other deleted? I'm left with the assumption that questioning the status quo is the violation that invokes moderation.

It's one thing to ask a reasonable question in a polite manner. Starting multiple threads clearly irritated is not the best way to get answers from people who aren't obligated to answer.

We aren't here to "hash issues out". We are here to talk about fish. The site owner doesn't want arguments. Simple as that..
