...If any one is thinking, not a Clown Trigger lol

Merry Christmas To Everybody Hope All Is Well!

Well my question is: Why does my maroon clown fish keeps digging in the sand by shifting his tail?

Is it because the need for an anemone, which I'm thinking when I get stronger lights....unless 2 54 watt bulbs are enough?

Thanks

I dont know the answer to this...I have seen maroon clowns spit sand as a defense mechanism, so moving sand is something that they do, but not really sure why he would be moving it with his tail.

Unless he shows signs of abrasion I would say that you are probably okay.

Oh ok it's just the other fish are doing everything normally. Maybe an anemone can help stop this habit?....but if it's normal thats all that counts lol

clownfish tend to do this for two reasons...the first is to establish their territory. the second is for food, digging in the sand kicks up any tasty edibles items that may be hidden there....

an anemone would not change this natural behavior
