Hey guys,
Another obscure question for ya. Why does my 4" flowerhorn only chase and beat on my 4" Green Terror. It doesn't bother anyone else in the tank which consists of a parrot, blue acara,2 pictius cats, spotted pleco and a datnoid. They are all of similar size but the only one the FH seems to occupied with is the GT. Just seems kind of weird.

Its cuz ur Green terror said someting nasty to ur Flowerhorn about being ***. Ok ur flowerhorn does it cuz he can. Or ur flowerhorn only views the green terror as a threat. Or he doesn't like the color green. Ur flowerhorn is annoyed cuz the green terror snores. Do u start to see a definite trend in my answers yet???

Not to try to jack the thread but yeah I do wonder why this is too. My LMB only chased my black crappie when there was other LMB, walleyes, and bullheads in my tank and the crappie was bigger to BTW.

Good luck on your fish though and hopefully that fish don't get too stressed out.

I think it is because I love green terrors and I have had a hard time finding a true green terror and not some half breed convict terror thing. I finally found a true green terror and I want to grow it in to a monster but the FH just doesn't want that to work out for me finally.

This is always a concern when you keep cichlids. I have seen where certain fish will dislike a certain fish and will be ok with another fish of the type it hated.

Was the FH in the tank first? How big is the tank? Do you have things in your tank that give them places to hide?

The reason is b/c to the F/H the green terror poses the biggest threat in the tank at the moment, remember people we are dealing with nature. Just a note, in a small tank F/H can end up killing every tank mate(this is very common, although I have seen F/H kept with tank mates, usually in a big tank)

i agree with ashdavid...as i have know flowerhorn is very territorial and if you fh is a girl it is possible that the fh will soon lay some eggs.....

fh is a very territorial fish ... me i have them separated in each tank

i have 6 fh in 6 tank

The green terror is just first after it is dead the flowerhorn will pick another fish to terrorize
