I noticed the other day that my Fx5 is continually spitting out fine bubbles. My first though was "oh god! It must be leaking!" but I've checked everywhere and its not. Next I checked that the intake and output are well below water level, they were. So what else is there? Is the bacteria producing gas? if so is it safe for the fish? I'm confused. Its not like an occasional trickle of air its a steady stream of fine bubbles I'd estimate around 1 or 2 cubic centimeters a minute. If I shut it off a large amount of air comes out the outlet. Run it for another 12 hours, shut it off and the same amount of air comes out. I've observed the 3 Oscars to see if they're somehow getting bubbles in the intake and they're not. I do have a hob filter on the opposite end which does make micro bubbles but with the amount of air I'm seeing I highly doubt its the hob filter.

Any thoughts?

clean it, if it keeps up, its a crack in the intake line or fitting or somewhere
