why does my goby bury itself at night? (pics)

this fish is like an oscar during the day time, begging for food and swimming around all happy... heres some pics of him being normal



and after the lights go out i hear some
rocks hit the glass and hes gone.. this fish is probably 9" long, and my friends does not do this. here he is in stealth mode... why does he do this?? is it normal?

I was looking at this on mobile and the night pictures were taking a while to load so they were all black. I said to myself "did this guy seriously upload pictures of the lights out?".

I'm sorry, I can't help with why the giby buries himself. Hes a really nice looking fish though!

Some type of sleeper goby, maybe a jade or snakehead, they are ambush predators and he's probably just waiting for a meal. I'm sure it's normal, neat fish!

he never does this in the day time, hes always swimming around or begging for food like a fat pig

the thing that bugs me is that he had a little cut on his nose yeaterday and i bet he buried himself near my driftwood and cut himself on it
