I posted a while ago that our kendalli had spawned and there was little intrest are these guys uncommon or are they just unliked.

Is that because they are hard to find to costly or just don't catch peoples eye one of our lfs said they have a tough time selling tangs is this common all over.

I agree.

I think Tangs in general are tougher sales than Malawi cichlids. They are not as bright and flashy, grow more slowly and are generally more aggressive. Because less folks keep/breed them, they tend to also be more expensive.

You really need to plan ahead in a Tang tank as opposed to stacking a bunch of random fish together like you can do with the Malawian fish. They are much less forgiving for the beginning fish keeper.

Typically, their beauty is in their behavior imo, which most entry-level hobbyists are not so concerned with.

Yah I have noticed they are more costly and the tropheus are a little more picky and less foregiving but I thought in general the ca's were more aggresive. Our kedalli are a rather shy fish and I have heard better as just a pair but we have 4 in a 90 and have had at least 2 spawns but 2 of our original fish just dissapeared but what you guys are saying is interesting.
