Alright, I havnt been in the cichla game very long but Ive been through 3 sets of growouts. Hybrids, and two orders of orinos. I have had them hammering massivore like 3 times a day until there stuffed and all of a sudden they just lose interest and barely eat. It always seems to be around the 4 or 5 inch mark if that makes a difference. Its just frustrating as can be because you put all that effort into pellet training and they just stop. They eat but barely. There not sick or anything and water quality is great. 0 Amm ) Nitrite and unreadable small ammount of nitrate... Water temp is 87... Any suggestions? Different food maybe? I thought massivore is like crack. Not in my experience so far.

They're going on strike. Just starve them for a day or 2.

never heard of this happening before unless there is something wrong with the fish...

The thing is they eat but just a piece or two then retreat away thats it lol. IDK there not starving there just not fillin up and it bothers me. The fish are wild but I have treated for parasites already. Poops is all normal and whatnot. They sit up and beg but just show no interest in the pellets anymore is basically whats happening. I also could start feeding once a day now instead of 3 maybe Ill try that first. I just want them to get big :)

They just do that sometimes....
Like sevan said....give em a day off.
Are you feeding the little guys whole massivore of chunks of it? WHole pellets may be a little big....unless they are the carnivore ones(smaller).
Add some silver dollars to get em more active and feeding more....it may help as well.

Nahh just chunks at the moment. Ill give them a break like you guys said. Right now there is two tinfoil barbs in there and I just ordered a flagtail. I know its a algae eater but im sure it will beg with the rest of them. I dont want to add more fish and over do it ya know. Thanks again all!

Starving always works for me, they tend to come back eating just as aggressive once you take a day off or two
