Why dont people like long bodied Flowerhorns? I wanted to try and make a longer bodied FH by adding Jaguar or Red bay snook, but may be leaving the hobby. But I've found out that many FH keepers dont like long bodies. Is there a reason for this?

i love short normal long it dosnt matter to me. but for FH i want the body there breed for.

do the long bodied flowerhorn ....... go out with a bang dont wither away

Long bodied is just an opinion. The reason people don't breed them with snooks and parachromis is because they will produce ugly colored fry and ruin kok genetics and flowerline. There isn't any lineage of those fish in a flowerhorn. I feel like if you breed them with those it won't be a flowerhorn anymore but just a hybrid. If you want one make it.

I know most of the fry would look ugly. But through several generations of selective breeding, keeping the longer body, you could bring back the flowerhorn traits. I would eventually try this but my love for fish is dying, still there, but not as much as it was. Kinda into hybrid colubrid snakes right now. lol :D
