Was fishing with Eugene (Gene0514) at Wolf pond in Staten Island today. He found a dead Muskrat, and I went looking for a stick to move it. I looked in a bush on the bank and saw a big black tail, which, of course, I grabbed. This big girl popped out
she was opaque, and very pissed off. She actually had an old Bass hook in her ventral scales, which Eugene took out (you can see that in one of the pics) and then we turned her loose. I did get to talk to a few bystanders who were quite shocked and seemed to think this was a venomous Snake. Hopefully they will be less likely to kill a Snake they may see in the future. Thought the herpers would get a kick out of it
