Why is all customer service/tech support calls going to India?

I thought it was just for computers and in the internet. Now, I found out it is for banks also. What is next? I am not racist or anything but I feel that people who live and work in the USA should be in those jobs.

It's cheaper than having to pay an americans workers' insurance, medical benefits, vacation days, pension, sick leave, paternity leave, minimum wage requirements....need I go on?

Not just India though. There are alot of call centers here in the Philippines too. You can go to special schools here to to be trained to work in a call center. They even have billboards advertising it.
