Why is my blue acara doing this?

Around the time my convicts laid eggs, my 3 inch blue acara started doing this....is she trying to look like a convict??? Any help would be appreciated as i'm not sure this is normal.

It could be from stress, ( if you mean the black bars). how big is the tank? convicts in breeding mode can be pretty mean.

I agree with Lizard, it's most likely due to stress. I would consider moving the Acara to another tank.

if its the 33gal that u have in the signature then i think you need to move your acara

Yes i just got another tank recently, i am putting her in soon, i need to cycle the tank first tho. Thanks for your help, i am now figuring out where it should go, as i don't have a lot of room anymore thanks to all my new tanks!! lol
