Why is my jaguar cichlids so shy

Get some large shoaling fish so he will feel more secure.

+1, Dither fish work great for most fish, it's an instant change in behavior when there's other fish in the tank swimming around. Depending on tank size and size of the jag, you could do anything from large tiger barbs, to silver dollars.

Hes about 3 inches even if the silver dollar if bigs than him wont he still try to kill it
