i have a juvenile jaguar and all he does is hide in his cave all day and if hes out of the cave and i come near he runs back to the cave. How do i make it so he gets use to me so he does not run away. Also how do i train him so i can pet him and hand feed him?

idk maybe its because to him your HUGE! he will get used to you

I agree, its normal. One thing i do is stay and watch every feeding after a while the fish will accociate you with food and after a while no matter if you are feeding them or not they will come out to greet you becuase of the training.. if you feed and walk away this will never happen.. Thats just my experiance

bro i have the same problem with my 3x ebjd, maybe we should add more hidin spots, that helps bring out clown loaches, maybe that will help out the skittish, n maybe lots of thick plants?

they get over it. expecially when they get a little bigger. i have a little 2 incher who never came out but now he knows im the hand that feeds him so he comes out when i come around. just give it time and feedings.

:iagree:this is what i do, at every feeding i stand close and watch them for a few minutes, from doing this even my red terror fry that are only like 2cm come to the front of the glass when i come to the tank (well most of them anyways lol)

if i were to get plants how would i take care of it? just put it in the water and leave it? or do i have to put chemicals for the plant to survive
