Please help, I bought a TSN about 3 days ago. I try offering it pellets everyday but it is still not eating and I don't know why. Anybody have any suggestions?

Give the little TSN more time it's still adjusting to new environment.
Thanks a lot! tlindsey tlindsey I was panicking so much at first

Have any of you have or had a TSN . I want to hear some experience to improve so that my TSN can live a happy life.

I agree with the guys above but I'd also ask if you test your water and what the results are. Is the tank cycled? If yes, how do you know?

Have you read their numerous profiles online? There is a lot of info out there that doesn't need to be repeated. Including, but not limited to, the stickie threads in this forum.

I'd also ask what the fish was fed prior to getting to you.

When small, the TSN I had would usually prefer fish, cut or whole, to pellets. Usually, no healthy and happy and well acclimated fish can refuse bloodworms or earth worms.

Bullying, bright light, no cover, inadequate aeration, wrong or unstable temperature or pH, wrong water hardness or salinity can all spoil an appetite of a fish too.

I have not test my water yet but the tank is cycled by a powerhead and I also put an airstone in there too. I also do a water change every two or three days. My TSN is in a tank with other two RTC but it is not being bullied whatsoever. And good news he had already start eating today!

This doesnt sound good frankly. Is there a filter on the tank? What size tank? Are you aware of TSN and RTC growth rate and size?

Congratulations on the TSN starting to feed. This likely means your water is good.

When a tank is cycled, it means it has grown enough beneficial bacteria to process ammonia and nitrite into benign nitrate.

Do you know what the nitrogen cycle in a fish tank is? If not, read up on it.

I most strongly recommend to buy a test kit such as API freshwater master test kit and use it. It is around $20 and can be used for many years.

I don't have any filter on the tank, the reason is that I have a very limited budget and I am saving up for the pond that I will build for my TSN and RTC and I am fully aware of their growth rate.
