I have two orange chromides in my brackish tank. One looks fine, though he is more of a pale yellow than a bright orange like so many online pictures show. My other one's face is yellowish orange but the rest of his body is mainly black. It's not like this all the time but recently he's been more dark than ever. He doesn't act like he's sick or anything. He's eating. Since the other chromide is also doing fine and has nothing weird going on with her colors I was wondering what might be going on. Is this even a problem at all?

Here's them both together (he's the bottom one):

Here's just him:

I've seen stressed chromides take on this colouration, normally if they're being harassed by a tankmate. Check to see if any of the other fish (including your other chromides) are picking on this induvidual. You may find it's happening at night.

Those look like Green chromides to me.

Turns out he had a bacterial infection. I couldn't cure him in my tank because I have an eel and I don't have a hospital tank. He was euthanized at the fish store :(

The rest of my fish are fine though.

I don't think they are Green Chromides. They have spots instead of stripes. Also, one time after a water change the chromide was bright orange and faded to the light yellow later on.
