Have a mated pair of Jack Dempseys. They last breed 3 weeks ago.I left the fry with the parents up until a few days ago.All last week I noticed the parents were easily startled, even just walking into the room they would swim from one end of the tank to the other really fast. They did not act this way the previous 2 weeks(this was my clue that I should remove fry before they were eaten). Both of them act this way. They still do it now after I removed the fry.Looks like they could hurt themselves. They are in a 46 gallon tank with plenty of hiding places. This is the second time they have spawned.First time I removed fry right away(lost all the fry),this time I let the parents take care of their fry(must have about 200 fry). They are a young pair, male is 4 1/2 inches, female is 4 inches.Any reason why pair gets spooked?
