La
are texas supposed to be shy? mine seem very shy always hiding in the driftwood. they are in a 85 gallon tank

What else do you have in your tank? Also, cichlids love to hide by nature so the more hiding places you have, the more they will tend to use it.

i have baby cons that are like 2 in and jewels that are 2 in

Maybe they're not use to you. Do you watch them often?

spoil him with food he will warm up to you (if you do do that do more water changes) also with more hiding places he should be more sucure and should come out more:)

i watch them alot, but i have to sit down for like a minute until they will acutally come out.

How long have you had the fish? How big is the texas? Convicts and jewels can be pretty aggressive at a small size like that, possible could be hiding from them too. Texas needs to get a bit bigger than 2inches(if they are that small as well) before they get their 'courage' hehe. If they all come out to see you after a short while, then they just need more time to get used to you. It will happen eventually.
