He looks as though he has been burnt or something. Check to see if there are any really hot spots on your heats and also check to see if hes been rubbing up against anything which could have created what almost looks like a blister. I don't know for sure but those are the first things I could think of after seeing the pics.

the hottest thing in the tank is the filter and the heater but the heater is shoved behind this big *** plant behnd the filter. i have never seen him scratch but when he got it he was in a bare tank with only a filter the Q tank and a small plant is it possible that he jumped got stuck in the light fixture and burnt him self

any body know what it is no way i am the only person that has had a fish have this. the water is good and the temp is on its mark and he eats. its not a parasite is it? Ich Definatly not. Fungus I dont think so. Ulcer maybe, i have nver seen one before. fighting its not, no other fish. if it is a blister how do i cure it do i have to pop it ewwww but if i have to i will but only if that has been garenteed that thats what it is. is it also possible that he ate so much that it caused this because when i first got him i put him in the tank with 5 rosy reds and they where all gone in like 10 min. i learned from that and i only put in 2 a day for him

what is the point adding melafix?
the melafix was because it is suposed to help with open wounds and ulcers but it hasnt done sh$%#. i still have no idea i think i am gonna send him back and order another one.

it dosen't look like my fl gars growth. yours looks more like an injury swelling. maybe a tankmate or a scare caused it to injure itself.
