Why isn't my flowerhorn cichlid eating? HELP.

I just got a 1 inch flowerhorn cichlid, He is by himself in a 30 gallon. I tried feeding him some small chunks of krill,pellets and flakes But he won't eat it he will chew on it then spit it out he doesn't bother trying to eat it. Then I put some frozen brine shrimp in there and he finally ate something. He is soo damn picky he will only eat blood worms and brine shrimp how can I get him to eat pellets and other dried foods? Please Reply.

He is also very colorful for a 1 incher...How do you post pictures on a thread?

yeah ask in the hybrid section but my guess would be that since he is soo small that the other foods are just to big for him to swallow properly, try breaking them up as small as u can and then soaking them in a cup of tank water first to soften them up
