I had em since it was 7" it is now 9" in 4 months and doesn't seem to be growing anymore. He does have a deformity. He's missing half of his lower jaw including 2 whiskers on the side where his jaw is missing. I bought it like that from my lfs. He's now in 40 breeder grow out by himself because all my fish out grew him. What's making him not grow? Is it because his deformity doesn't allow him to eat as well as others?
why isnt my marble sailfin growing?

The deformity and they need a large tank even as juvies to be able to put on healthy growth. Also what do ya feed it?
Massivore and nightcrawlers. It doesn't like fish fillets and it can't catch feeders. I don't want to put it in my 125 due to my competitive eaters so I put it in a tank where it has a good amount of space to swim without having it struggle to find food
food sounds fine nothing wrong with it. But seriously it wont grow properly if it feels cramped. these catfish will feel cramped when they can touch one or more whiskers from both sides touch the aquarium. What are the other fish in the 125?
Maybe I should put it in a 75 gal for now until I will feel comfortable putting it with my other fish?
there are only the 2 fish in the 125 how big are the? when i got my marble he was about 5 inches i put him in my 125 with a silver that was around 16 inches and a pb that was about 6 and had no problems. know it is close to 20 and will eat out of my hands. some times you just got to take a chance and watch the fish for problems if he has trouble gitting food work on hand feeding. it really isent that hard is is a really fun trick to show friends
