I have 5 Indos in my 405 they get along fine they all eat like crazy but out of the five only two of them are stable all the time and the others are 50/50 there all about 6-7" with one thats about 4-5".what could be causing them not to be stable all the time like the other two?I also have a NGT thats about 4-5" and im thinking of putting him in with them, do you think ill have any problems with him and the others?

When it comes to dats, I always say: Some are, some aren't, and some might be ;)

put the NGT
they can be a bit more aggressive than other dats sometimes.. BUT the yellow on them is just a must have to any dat tank :naughty::naughty:

most who have kept tigers for several years will tend to agree.

Just remember that tigers in particular IT's can go unstable for indefinate periods of time, vice versa....

It seems to be a trait with this type of tiger.
In my experience some things that can trigger the stableness to come through are:
other tank mates
strength of lighting
big tank & big filtration

waiting a long time without messing around with tank.

well i have 8 silver dollars,1 D.sex,1 black shark,1 flag tail,1 niger cat,1 giraffe cat, 2 Iwini cats, and a fire eel as there tank mates.

its kind of weird but when i put my car and the boat in the garage all of them went 100% stable and looked amazing and then a few weeks later they were back to the way they looked. I was thinking of adding some more drift wood something like large roots hanging in the water and some floating plants, do you guys think that may help or should i leave it be?

i say just leave em alone. i dont think it'll hurt to add some stuff but u probably go crazy if that doesnt work and end up spending money on more and more stuff.

As I posted, this is a trait that the indos carry more than any other tiger... They can go unstable when ever that want and for how ever long that want.

Don't do anything to tank. Just wait. Might take months or years.

I can wait it took me awhile to get these guys so i dont think ill be getting rid of them any time soon. I did end up moving some stuff around since i ended up getting two rays.

well you made a mistake
leave everything as is for them to get stable..
adding tankmates usually makes it worse..
atleast in my case
