Just going off a quick thought. IF a bp consists of midas crossed with synspillum... isn't that only 50% fading genes?

If there is a culling process it sure isn't for color... Petco and other store's sell them around an inch un-faded. So you can purchase them and know it's going to fade... what other hybrids(other than kkp and mammon) have a 100% fading percentage?

There might be a simple reason... someone enlighten me.

Oh and also rose queen's are guaranteed to fade. But this isn't about them so please don't elaborate on them. Lol

Rose Queens are part of the parrot family though right? Like aren't rose queens just parrots without the deformities (at least in their bass-est form)?

i dont think real solid red parrots come and stay at first generation.

And I think it's Syn X red devil for absolute correct red parrot 1st gen to move on. Midas always shoot out yellows to Xbreed offsprings. imo

I agree and the little fish sold as BP are not first gen offspring but from several generations down the line already carrying a full set of fading genes. As each gen they were likely bred back to a red devil or other pure Amphilophus having the fading gene to strengthen the gene in the offspring and because a fertile male was needed to produce offspring. Once both fish used carry full sets of the fading gene producing mostly fry that fade is the common. I have seen parrots that did not fade at least in the time up to when I have seen them.

To breed a bloodparrot back to a red devil wont give you a bloodparrot it would give you a devil parrot that couldn't be sold as a bloodparrot a devil parrot has a similarly shaped body without a heart shaped mouth which I have seen very few of I have no problem grasping the concept of every bloodparrot thats sold is first generation due to the amount of space most asain fish farms have and the way they breed fish by inducing spawns by hormone injection therapy

Gameponder I thought said this to you before? show proof. I would like to know as a fact too also because I always hear it. Been years.

And I think a bp X to a red devil will make Nice faders like the Super kkps.

U inject hormone too.. But I got no proof though. cmon man . Ure playing with inbred and Xbreded mutts bred to be whatever they are.

I'm not sure... I just didn't want them part of the discussion because I wanted this thread to only be about blood parrots.

Fellas let's not talk about their color yet because that is not what I'm asking... I am specifically talking about the fading gene. We can discuss the different colors later.

This is my understanding, when one crosses a bp and a texas... No matter how many generations od line breeding you can't get 100% faders! That is what im getting at... Correct me if I am wrong.
