Why not Blue Severum?

I had a Green Severum or really I should say a Heros. I just got a little Red Severum today. It got me thinking why don't we have a Bright Blue Severum or a light green one. Something? I feel like if someone really wanted to they could make some awesome looking fish with this Genus.

Is someone working on breeding other strains of the Heros? Has anyone seen some different color ones that were not wild? Seems like if you want different looking Severums you have to get wild ones.

Wait I found a Heros sp. "Blau" ? Anyone know about it?

Blau is the german word for blue. I believe they're referring to Heros sp. appendiculatus which has a blue head coloration.

I agree someone with time and money could really make some nice strains. I always say sevs never get the love they deserve.

My onion on why they don't is really slow growth rate. So it would take a long time to do. Pairing sevs isn't as easy as other cichlids.

Yeah after posting this I released Blau was Blue. I got better google results when I google Blau.

Yes someone with money should look into breeding these. Maybe if it is not done in 33 years I will look into it as a retirement project.
