well usauly i feed my fish twice a day but about two hours after i feed them their last meal of the day they look hungry and swim up towards the glass and look at me. So i feed them a little bit more. should i continue doing this or are they making me over feed them? thanks

I'm kind of odd on how I feed my fish. I want good growth, but I don't want a bunch of wasted food rotting in the tank.

When I first wake up, I feed normally, which is sort of on the heavy side. I only feed flakes.
When I get home, I feed them pretty lightly, but give them a good mix. Every other day, I drop in a couple of algae tablets too.
About an hour before bed time, I feed them again, but really light. Just a snack lol.
Then, as I shut down the lights, I feed flakes one more time. I do this so the nocturnals get a chance to eat too.

It seems to be working well. I am getting really good growth and my parameters stay in line as long as I keep up with weekly water changes.

Take care :)

I feed my big fish once a day. My community fish twice a day. And my africans, koi, and goldfish several times throughout the day. The africans get fed the most because they are in my room and are always at the top begging.

I feed mine at least twice a day, sometimes three. Once when I wake up, and again later in the evening, sometimes they get another meal early afternoon. However, they get several smaller snacks throughout the day. I have angels and they are always begging, especially whenever I walk by. :D
I just make sure that they eat everything, and I havent had any problems with exessive waste, and everyone is growing fast.

I feed all my fish three times a day. Once in the morning heavier then the other times. Just pellets because they are hungry and chow them down. So get the good for them stuff first. Lunch is either freeze dried krill, frozen blood worms, shrimp, crickets, meal warms, tilapia. Any of those depending on day i have a schedule lol. Latter i feed them pellets again. NLs pellets in the morning. And omega at night to be exact. Most people on here feed there fish alot from what i read. Its not how many times you feed them but how much you feed them at the feedings. And to not leave what they dont eat in the tank to rot away. I used to wonder the same. And from different info i have read on here alot of people say power feeding is bad for the internal growth of the fishes organs. Im not the exspert on that thow. I would say there your fish and we get used to how much our fish need ect.

Y'alls fish are lucky haha. I typically feed once daily, twice if im home all day or a little over twice if i'm trying to grow a fish at a high rate. Though I feed mostly high protein diets like bloodworms, tilapia, beef heart, shrimp, and soon to be carnivore pelles (though a couple of my fish get flakes) so I guess it makes sense I feed less
