why paint your tank?

Welcome :)

Most folks paint their backgrounds cause these are horrendous:

And because when using a paper background, you always get water or other crap behind there, which looks very ugly. Painted gives it a very nice sleek, uniform finish that maintains its look.

Plus, a background of any kind hides the mess of cords going behind your tank resulting in a much cleaner, more natural look.

Painted tanks seem to bee a little better for taking photo's too, not as much reflection off the back of the tank.

painted 1 of my tanks, will do it again next time a tank cycles out, or before setting up the next one. Cleaner looking, hides HOB filters and cords.

Yep, less stessfull to the fish also. They only have to worry about being disturbed from the front of the tank. But that's a reason why any backgroud will do. I painted by 20 long black, and my other 20 I put a roll of limo black window tint on. I think I'll go with a paper background in the future; as with paint you're stuck with it, and paper you can change it anytime you want.
