I have a tank with 4 amazon puffers, 1 figure8 puffer and guppies with bristlenoses and plecos. I have poured 100 live cherry shrimps couple of months ago as treat for puffers so that they eat them. To my surprise all of the cherry shrimps survived and they multiplied as they bred in the tank. Even when I starved the pufffers for multiple days, they did not attach cherry shrimps. I don’t understand the reason, as nearly everywhere I read, it says puffers will eat shrimps. In this case, all shrimps live together with puffers, they roam around and even I see shrimps are coming under the nose of puffers but still they do not see shrimps as food. I had more than 100 bristlenoses fries also roaming around with puffers and other adult plecos and alll of these BN fries survived too. The only food that my puffers will eat as live, are the tubafex worms, mosquito larva, blood worms.
mine last note, the puffers also do not eat any frozen food that would be made of shrimps such as mysis.

I am wondering if anyone of you have seen these behaviour before.
I have attached video that shows shrimps with puffers.

Looks like the shrimp are hiding well - I’d consider yourself lucky!
Also doesn’t help that amazons are scared of their own shadow.
Weird that they don’t go after mysis though, mine go crazy over it.

As long as they are getting a rounded diet, I wouldn’t worry.
Tbh your success with the shrimp gives me hope to try some with mine - but I’d bet my loaches would catch them.
