How come on just about every aquarium medication (that I've seen), the instructions say to remove the carbon from the filter? Is this just aquaria voo doo, or does the carbon react with the medication?
I am not a chemical engineer so I do not know the "PC" terms but carbon removes all medications and helps in clearing up your water. Carbon is also used for removing chlorine and other harmful chemicals in your tap water for water changes.
I've heard that if your carbon is more than two weeks old though, you don't have to remove it. Apparently, by that point its absorption properties are just about nil.
carbon has a spike in its use.and then it just dies flat. by removing the carbon you increase the medications effectiveness despite what stage your carbon is at so in other words
take out the carbon or else it will suck up your medication
