why so much algae?

why does this tank get so much algae? should I treat with algae meds?

Is it exposed to direct sunlight?

Habe you measured phosphates in water?

I almost never have algae issues...as long as the tank is not near a window...and gets sunlight.

Yes it gets sunlight. But there is another tank on the other side of the room that has never had algae.... the Two 405 canisters I'm running I got used and they were from a filthy algae filled tank. I took them both apart and scrubbed them clean, as well as replaced a few un cleanable parts
