Ok I just saw this on yahoo news.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090622/ap_on_re_us/us_rubber_rooms

some good bullet points.

* 700 NYC teachers paid to do nothing
* accused of offenses ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct
* union contract makes it extremely difficult to fire them
* costs the taxpayers $65 million a year

Now don't get me wrong I'm ok with SOME unions where they are needed but this is to much. and why the economy is soo bad off in some areas.

I wanna be a teacher!!!

I should of been a teacher in NY.... Sitting in a room all day long, bar across the street, and get paid doing nothing... Now that's the life...

Typical republican BS to blame the economy on the unions :duh:

700 is less than 1% of the Teachers represented by the union. Likely it's the laziness of the school system to see things thru. Much easier just to make a problem go away by ignoring it and blaming it on the union rules that make it hard to fire someone.

lmao. Wouldn't it be great for you guys to have a dictator like Hitler who abolished unions.

No your history and why unions where started in the first place. I wish I had the time to go on about this topic but I'm running late. I have to drive my 9 year old to work, at the factory.
