I don't usually post in the Stingray section, but I see a lot of posts from this forum about people having to starve their fish to get them on pellets or dead food. Its not just here, either. The armatus keepers seem to have a lot of the same issues, so I'm gonna assume its an issue with all wild-caught specimens.

Anyhow, I had the same issue with many of my Loaches over the last few months & I had GREAT success using a garlic extract product. It makes them go nuts like they haven't eaten in weeks & then when the food hits the water it gets instantly devoured, no matter what. Since its all natural & (arguably) has some anti-parasitic benefits, why dont I ever see anyone use it for Rays?

garlic and rays is FAIL!!!!

I would like to say I have never used garlic on any of my fish, but the local MFK tab keeper will get angry for me posting in the ray forum since i'm in texas and since i can't own them, apparently i can't post here, even in regard to general understanding. Oh hell, I have never used garlic on any of my fish (not rays, see above) Sorry Reverse, I'll try not to let it happen again :)

Never worked with me....

i tried the garlic once and it didnt work.

Just to clarify... What didn't work about it? Were you trying to get a Ray to eat or using it to treat parasites?

Why are we Texans not supposed to post in here? I'll bring my own beer & steak...:D

LOL:ROFL:

I think most ray keepers go with the "soak" method...

Not known 1st hand either, cause I live in my padded room!
