why u dnt keep african clawded frogs with other fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i learned this exact same thing except when i use to have guppies. they keep disappearing. then i relized that he was eating them at night.

I kept one with a madtom (native catfish) when I was in high school.

I came home one day and both were dead. The frog decided to eat the catfish- the catfish spine lodged into the frogs mouth and the frog apparently choked to death.

I was so disappointed because that frog was one of my favorite pets at that time so was the madtom.

Never kept clawed frogs after that.

typical of clawed frogs, although ironically I tried mixing my ACF (which wasn't that small) with cichlids, and everything was fine for months until one day the Crenicichla sp. Venezuela decided to rip of every limb from the frog...leaving only a torso. I ended up having to re-home the pike to another MFK'er after it did away with a beautiful Dimidochromis kiwinge I had.
