Why we don't see many world record fish ESPECIALLY IN THE US!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree Giant Aligator Gars are a dying breed. If you haven't already. watch the river monsters episode on them. Giants were exterminated because people feared them, and mistook them for alligators.

wwfd? what would flanders do?

sad. but the reality is that the fish would have died no matter what.

you cant fight a fish like that for 14 hours and release it and have it live - due to lactic acid build up - they end up dying following release...

lactic acid build up is a big fish killer of giant fish following a really long fight, it can happen often with giant saltwater fish like tarpon etc.

now, had he "caught" the fish on actual tackle, chances are the fight would have been nowhere near as long.

but instead of using a rod and reel, this guy used a bow and arrow..:(

"Mike Wood, the statewide program manager for fisheries management, said the gar could be 50 years old."

come on, how long are we to expect this fish had to live after this catch...

if anything killing juvi's is worse.
