To answer on of your questions, Cons will breed no matter what, simply because they are cons, they do it all the time whether you like it or not.

What is your male/female ratio, temperature, tank size, any tankmates, etc? Are you conditions right? Yellow labs are fairly easy to breed, I had them in a 60 gallon way back then, and they always bred for me, I had the temp at 78 and the ph was around 8. I had 2 males and 8 females breeding a lot.

It could be that they are not being allowed to breed out in the open. I would add a few more stone/flowerpots to create more caves, crevices and such.

Add more caves, feed the crap out of them and do lots of water changes. You need to add size to the fems and give them a place to breed....Oh, and be patient...

buying a group of 9 larger yellow labs at the weekend so ideally they should start breeding then

ive just gotta get rid of the non, yellow lab cichiclids now

So either way I think if you add some more hiding spots and I'm not sure what the temperature is but I have crazy good luck breeding labs.

I have a 75 with about 75 lbs. of rocks, a 20 lbs. sand, drift wood and I keep the temp at around 80 degrees. I also keep the salt level up and my PH is 7.6.

I recently took all my adult fish back and my 75 gallon now contains about 24 lab fry.

They look small but that shouldn't be a problem.

GOOD LUCK!!!
