Why wont my arows mouth heal please help

I have a 12" silver aro that i baught 3 weeks ago and it had a cut on the tip of his bottom jaw by his feelers i gues thats what you call them anyway i baught him even when he had this problem becaus he was kept in a 10g tank at the store and i couldnt leave him so my ? is how long should it take to heal so far he has been in my 55g hospital tank with 1 week of pimafix and then 1 week of melafix and 1 week of just salt all at a temp of 75 and to me it looks worse what can i do? My tank params are 0 ammonia 0 nitrites 5.0 ppm nitrates and a ph between 6 and 6.4 and i am useing an api master kit. i also do 30% water changes weekly

USES FOR SALT
Salt (rock, mineral,or Sea salt used as dips,general tonic and ICH treatment
Salt (table) mixed into a paste with warm vinegar used for removing hardwater
calcium bulidup on equipment.

Saw this in a post what does sea salt used as dips mean?
 
I have had breeders tell me to use it if I needed it. What can it hurt to have some in the house? Its says to clean the wound before applying. If it has dead skin you want to take it off to put this on it.
 
Does your aro rub it's lip/jaw up against the glass alot?
