the title says it all. the other day i feed all the animals and everything looked good. the wife and i headed down to the casino spent the night came back the next day and my male guppy had its tail half eaten. and looked like it was in ruff shape. but there are lots of plants in there so i figured it would have been ok so i put some food in there we went out to eat came back and my male guppy is no where to be found. theres no way it could have jumped out and i moved all the plants around looking for the male and he is gone. the only fish in there were free swimming guppy fry the female guppy and my male guppy. so why would my female guppy eat my male guppy?

id look around really really thoroughly everywhere to make sure part of the male isnt stuck somewhere, cuz if that rots ur gonna have a nightmare

as far as why the female would nip, i don't really know

Hey, some females are like that!

But, talking about the guppy's, does seem strange, could it be that he got his tail caught in the filter intake and that once his tail was 'chewed up' he ws unable to swim hard enough to stop himself getting sucked in completely?

i dont think theres any way he could get sucked up in the filter. she couldnt of caught him with another guppy those were the only too in there besides the fry lol
