Why would my leo/hen change color?

Over the past week my male leo/hen male 10" has gotten alot lighter. He went from black to grey. Still eating fine nothing changed in the tank at all.

Because yah gotta actually look at your rays in person not in those terrible photos you took lol joking .


Try and get a few better shots. Make sure the lighting is the same . One of those pics has almost no light exposure while the other does ?
 
Any tail shots?

Dont kill me but looks like a leo/motoro from the pics. Some better pics would prob help

Also my leos will lighten up when stressed. It dosnt happen often but sometimes when i put the males in their timeout tank lol

I could be wrong... Paddle tail looks pretty normal. Hard to tell these hybrids

Looks like hes stressed. Looks exactly like my males when i move them to seperate tanks. It usually only lasts a few hours. If your ray always looks washed out like that then params are off

He is a nice ray either way.. leo/hen or motoro hybrid. Just hope you didn't miss out on the cash side of the deal lol
 
I have 3 Henlei's and one of my females does that sometimes. She can be black for weeks and then turn gray for a couple of days. I have near perfect water parameters and I cannot figure it out either. The great thing is she is really healthy so I don't let it get to me too much but I would love to know why only she does it.
