Well this is my water change bucket that currently house mosquito larvae and driftwood. Just chocked full of the little bastards that are soon to become fish food.

To answer your question. Coz i don't want a smelly bucket of stagnent water sitting in my house? Go figure some of us live in flats.

It's does not smell actually, all the tannins from the wood seem to be keeping anything from rotting ,bacteria.

But yes smaller fish love this food, mine liked it.

how do you get the larvae out into your pond?? Do you just net them out?

Not a dumb question. First it's a tank not a pond. I just take a plastic cup and when it fills with water they get sucked in as well. Then I take them inside and feed it to the fish.
