MY wife's cat used to do that when we had a Betta in a 2 1/2 gallon with Bamboo plants... The Betta is no longer with us...

My cat is use to jumping up on top of my 180 because I always have lids on unless im cleaning....Wellone day I had nothing on the top of the tank while I was cleaning and he jumped up and into my half full tank! I was so freaking funny because it was still deep enough where he couldnt quite touch and shallow enough he couldnt jump out. I laughed so hard I cried. He got even when I finally stopped laughing hysterically and removed him. I git the absolute crap scratched out of me

hah..i have a 20 long under my 40 gallon that all my cats drink out of, don't mind it.

none of my tanks have lids but...I mostly have bottom dwellers and guppies are not so prone to jumping.
