I have a GT JAG JD and CON, and i feed the CON GT and JD hikari cichlid gold but the JAG wont eat pellets it only eats flakes.:screwy: And its getting expensive buying 2 kinds of food. Is there a way that i can get my JAG to eat pellets so i dont have to buy both?:irked:

Mine have always been feed flake and pellets since babies, and ive never had a problem with them taking either.
Im not sure if its true with jags, but i know it is with oscars, if you dont feed them for a while, you can get them to take other types of food (got mine off feeders this way)

Well you should always feed 3 or more different types of food to every fish not just pellets. True pellets could be their staple diet but they should not always be fed that. I feed my fish everything you could think of. Peas, Zucchini, Beef heart, hikari bloodworms, hikari krill, tetra Tropical fish flakes, Tetra Sticks, Hikari cichlid Gold, hikari bio gold, earthworms, crickets, and grasshoppers. I just buy bulk when it's on sale. You can try and starve him until he eats the pellets. I am trying to do that with my Gold Saum right now because I got her used to bloodworms to much and she won't anything else.

jags are picky eaters. mine will only certain foods. when i wanted to change its diet it had to be starved out for very long periods. it will only eat shrimp pellets, aqeon pellets and brine shrimp anything else will just there. pick your food choice starve him out and he will eat strave him out only feed the foods you plan to use in the long run.

I never had any problems with jags not eating what was in their tank. They always chow down on stuff.

Starve the Jag for 4-5 days. it should then accept pellets. Or make him eat foods other than flakes and or pellets. He'll be sure to try pellets after foretting the texture of flakes.

I feed a mixture of Hikari Cichlid Gold pellets, Omega One Super color flake, and Omega One Cichlid Pellets to all my cichlids and they eat everything. Some fish can be fussy about what they eat.

yeah starve him for around 4-7days and then try with pellets. my jags now eat pellet, they only used to eat bloodworm. also i have my wild festae on pellets too i just fattened her up when i got her with earthworm and then put some in and they were gone:)=Hastle gone all my fish eat the same type of pellet
