why do we see sooo many hybid theads hear surely you guys who like hybrid have their own forum just for hybrids

yes it is a cat but at the end of the day its a hybrid so take it to that forum were you can talk about test tube breeding as much as you want

or what is the point in even having a hybrid forum

true there is a hybrid forum, but there is virtually little or no info at all on hybrid catfish there. Everyone asks here, and at the end of the day they are still catfish, and I will not refuse to answer questions on any catfish even if they are hybrids. I use to post about my hybrid catfish in the hybrid section and never got any answers or response so I don't see the point unless the break up the hybrid section like they do this entire site. There's just too many cichlid hybrids to compete. As soon as you post it up it gets booted down, and no one looks. If the mods would be so kind as to split it up like they do the bottom dwellers I would have no problem posting there. Until then there's no better place to post about hybrid catfish than in the catfish section. Catfish hybrids are still relatively new, and here is where the best info is. I'll talk to some mods and see what I can't come up with.

Very well put I can kinda see your position on hybrids, but I dont agree at all. The catfish section is the coolest part of this site and some of the hybrid catfish just make it cooler. If you dont like it you certainly dont have to look, but having two different sections for basically the same fish just doesnt make sense. Just like in our day to day life things change, some for the better some for the worse. These hybrids are monster cats and are here to stay, what better place to learn about them than in the catfish section

This is the better forum for hybrid catfish info. If you don't like the threads, don't open them. I would not expect people to post elsewhere when the best information is in here. It is similer to native catfishes. One could arge that with a catfish forum they don't need to be posted about in the native forum. This is true but again, that is the best forum for that information.

Better question is why don't you have a problem with hybrid rays being posted in the ray forum.. Under your rule they should go into the hybrid forum..

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say ... your in the minority of the group... personally I don't really care for the hybrid thing but since i've gotten my RTC and I've been checking the Catfish section ... I'm seen some really cool ones that have peaked my interest...which has gotten me into Cats even more...

Since when does a thread mean that you have to read it? I mean I've heard you complaining about the hybrids for a few days now and never said anything simply because it's your choice to not like them... it however is not the way that the majority of the people that cruise the Catfish forum feel... I mean it's almost like saying that because you have a avatar of a ray you shouldn't be allowed to post in the CatFish section....

I agree with Necro as well by saying that if there was a breakdown in the hybrid section like there is in bottom dwellers then it woud most likely be a very informative place...

Just Relax and don't read about them if they offend you in some way...
