an LFS that a HAve my brother Taxi me too has a Show 300 gallon tank filled with some large cichlids that people have brought in.well it has 3 inhabitants a Show Male Golden Mojarra, And a Female Bean Cichlid,And a Female Pearse Cichlid.Well All Fish are Are Around 14'' And the Females laid Eggs at oppisite ends of the tank and the Females are playing Tug-O-War with the Male It looks like the eggs are fertilized because the owner Put a divider in and left the eggs to the male and well the Owner SAyed that the batches of Eggs were fertilized because theyre are little black dots on all the eggs.I dont really promote Hybrids But i Thought that These would be cool.So i Asked what he was gunna do with the fry And He SAid FEEDERS When they grow up they will become feeders for his Piranha Collection.I Died right there. He says he only let them breed because they Make large Amounts of fry for the piranha's to eat.So i am in a battleto save the fry but guess what happened The fry were Fed to the piranhas so i scouted the tank for any remainers and found None.

So now im pissed at him.

did you read your post before you posted it? your grammer is so horrible its hard to read.

1. Please proof read before posting. :)
2. I have a managuense and a texas that breed every three weeks. They have thousands of fry. I dump the fry into a 30g, power grow them, then use them as feeders. Same thing with my convict fry.

a little off topic..HiJinx, how often do the convicts breed..and how fast do the fries grow b4 becoming feeders? thinking of doing same for my cichlas..heh

My cons are weird and they're on and off. My tex and jag breed every three weeks.
The fry are ready to be feeders within a week or two for small fish. month for the bigger guys.

My con fry. Just took the pics tonight. 2 or 3 days old.

how do you go about "power growing" the convict fry. im breeding the fry for feeders also and this is my first batch so i dont really know how long its gonna take for them to be at a decent size

very clean water, warmer than normal, food food food. Just don't over feed.
IE: Lots of small feedings througout the day.
I feed mine in the morning, when I get home, at dinner, and a very small scack about 30 before I go to bed sometimes.

thats a nice looking convict... and i hate convicts but that one looks nice. are those live plants in there?
