Why?

So I have noticed on this site that a lot of people are kinda sorta really anti-women when it comes to fish. Why is this? I'm a girl, and I know WAY more about fish than 90% of the guys I know, and most of the people I know who are into fish are female. So why is everyone so anti-girl? Sorry if this gets me flamed haha I'm just really curious :)
 
Female as well and I haven't noticed that type of feel to MFK.

Everyone will assume you're a guy just because most on here are. Same holds true on any other forum I frequent - specially the PC types like [H], Anandtech and OCN.
 
I think you may be noticing some of our "younger" (I use the term loosely) crowd, they're just immature boys who don't know how to treat a lady... Point 'em out and we'll SMACK 'em...

theres more frequent male members yes, but i believe most girls(in general) get boredd with forums easy
 
lol i dont really care if you a women or not. Personally i worked with women at the LFS when i was 18 and they are experienced, And i agree they did no more than i did when i first started. To me if a guy gets mad about a girl who keeps fish in my opinion needs to grow the hell up. Just dont let anyone over the internet get to you lol.
 
Guys get jealous of women in the hobby when we do it better :headbang2 Just like with most things... but on a more seriouse note.. I've never on MFK been discriminated against for being female. and most the guys I know in the hobby think it's cool that I'm a "chick who keeps fish"

My husband is awed by my awesomeness somtimes though :ROFL:
 
haha no I mean I've never been discriminated against for being a girl. There's just a lot of posts about guys' girlfriends doing stupid things or saying "don't trust the girls!" and stuff like that. But I've never experienced it towards me :) just curious. I'll search for some threads haha to show you what I mean.

and I don't get bored with forums! They're my favorite procrastination :)
