Hi,
I introduced 5 peppered cories and 10 neons to my planted 60g discus tank, and two days later all the cories are dead, why is this?
I have the sligest hint of ammonia, it barely registers on the chart tho, i have kept cories in very bad competitions. My discus are fine and all my neons are as bright as rain (this is the 1st time i have kept neons). Any help will be appriciated thanks

Cories are quite sensitive. Maybe the sudden change in water conditions. Also i think they are quite prone to not liking temp. changes.

Well ive never lost one so soon before, strange, oh well they are coved by a 48 garentee, so ill go get 5 more, and use the drip system on them :)

what was your acclimation process?

float and release, thought they were tough fish, my other ones were.

Think some species are more "hardy" than others. Depends on age too. Better luck next time, and i would be careful with acclimatisation.

Hmmm, that does seem weird. Corys dead and discus fine:screwy:
Wonder if the LFS you got the corys from had dramatically different water params. (?)

Just wondering when did the first one die, just you said they were all gone in 2 days. How big were they too outta interest?

When I get new fish, I always put the bag in a bucket, test the pH of the water they came in, and slowly add tank water to the bucket over a period of time until it matches the tank pH. Works every time. I would be concerned if my tank had any trace of ammonia in it, and track down the cause. Could be you need more biofilteration.
