We have a group of Emperor Blue hook widebar silver dollars, 1 male 2 females, male is very large at 1 year old almost about 9-10” and thick with beautiful very large fins. Only sell as a group. $150

2 Red Hool silver Dollars 5”+ $20/ea

9-10” Flagtail Prochilodus $90

10” Black Ghost Knife fish $30

I am sure the fish are beautiful. Good luck with sale.
However, a "male is very large at 1 year old almost about 9-10” and thick with beautiful very large fins" cannot be 1 year old.
Blue hook wide bars (Myleus schomburgki) indeed get large, grow somewhat slow, and a 9-10" fish is quite a few years old (10+?).
They live for several decades! Perhaps you have own it for a year, but that fish is much older.
Would you post some pictures? I am sure they are impressive. Thanks.

Clearly I didn’t see it raised from fry, so exact age is unclear. But yes I purchased it at 4” about a year ago and he is roughly 9” or so lol not sure why that’s so hard to believe. I’ve raised Pygo Ternetzi(relative of blue hook) to over 10” from 2” imports in a year. It’s really not unheard of. Sorry you feel differently. If anyone has true interest pm me and I can give you my number to text photos/videos

Pygos do live faster lifes, and they too can live decades. They are not that closely related, despite external similarity. Same family, but quite different.
I am not disbelieving you or saying you are not truthful. However, a 4" black bar is probably already a few (not many) years old. It takes a good while from being longish fish, very different looking than the adults, until they achieve adult shape, and then eventually adult size.
Please don't be offended. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah...takes years to go from fry to a 4” fish....but then grows 5 times its body weight in less than a year. Maybe I just don’t know how to read a calendar? Lol...or maybe I’m just blind. Or maybe someone swapped out the fish with a larger, older one when I wasn’t looking? Idk man....either way....I hope you can find something better to do with your day than trying to make me look like a liar haha shheeesh!

Just shoot a picture of your fish would help.

Regret you take it that way. I am not trying to suggest what you said...at all.
Three of the fish below are 22 year olds.
I don't have any black bars.

As I said at the outset. GLWTsale
