keep in mind though that there are several variants of this species

I have one. The LFS owner gave me a deal on it. I wanted to buy more but he tells me that they are hard to come by. Also a vendor here is selling Myleus schomburgki for $80 for one. It is true that there are variants. The one I have is the wide black bar silver dollar as seen in the video.

isnt Myleus schomburgki a type of red hook sd with a thin black bar? I've seen those before, but I think its different then whats in the video-
red belly pacu-yes, they are hard to come buy, and I'm betiing thats what you have!

does anyone have these that knows what the name is for them? if it is Myleus schomburgki?

13 Species in Genus Myleus , maybe you're right ,It's possible to be new Species and maybe it's Myleus schomburgki. Between wide and narrow bar is not a factor to split into another Species. For me it's Myleus cf. schomburgki. I'm not sure there is a description that revise in this Genus or not?

It is Myleus schomburgkii sorry I spelled it wrong at the beginning of the thread. The variety that you are looking has a black anal fin not a red anal fin. The variety that has a red anal fin has the thin black bar but black anal variety has the wider bar. Here is the two side by side for comparison.
