Ok I have kept CA/SA cichlids for a long time and I have never noticed this behavior before. My WC jag will sit in a corner and use his front fins and fan them extremely hard over a sand bed and push himself down into it and sorta cover himself I guess. Then he gets up and bites a rock and moves it. The rock is about the same size as him and he rolls it around the tank. I have never witnessed a cichlid do any of this before. Usually the just take sand in there mouth and spit it all over but he burries himself in it. Any Ideas what he is doing?

Yea Jags are crazy. Mine gets a ping pong ball in his mouth and moves it to the other side of the tank. I want to get a pic but it doesn't last long.
