wierd lighting questions.

the normal bulbs i have on my non planted tank and in an all black plastic box with no reflectors would it help if i painted the inside white, or maybe that crazy chrome paint they have? or is it more work then it is worth. this is not actually a planted tank but i figure you have the most knowledge with lighting.

also i picked up a t8 light instead of the t12 and the t8's use less power, but i was wondering how much less is it worth it to switch both bulbs over to a t8 or just wait tell the second T12 one burns out?

T8s and T10s use the same wattage, the T8 is just a little more intense. You could paint the reflector, but I wouldn't worry about it that much.

ya i didnt think it would matter that much special since it is just for viewing fish not plants but thought i would check.

white reflects a lot of light. there are maylar i think its called if you really worried about getting more light down into the tank.
