Ok....so I have a QuietOne 6000 as a return pump and it has pumped constantly and consistently now for 4 years....until recently. It seems to have boosted its output all on its own....and no, I haven't cleaned it recently or changed the impeller....any ideas as to why it seems to pump whatever it feels like now?
It has also started to have a little difficulty getting started after it has been off for a while...
Anyone have issues with this pump or any others in the Lifegard line?

just a possibility.. gunk might have slowed it down over time going unnoticed an has now broken loose, freeing up the impeller, letting it pump more. Give the pump a real good cleaning and see what happens..I use the 4000 but only for a few months,so far so good.

The pump may need servicing. ..but it always pumps the same...I have the salt creep line on my overflow to prove it!! Lol...
Now it's like a different pump...I'm sitting here listening to the water going in the high level backup pipe....I had to throttle the discharge....weird..

This is a tough one; The pump seems to be pushing out higher flow, but at the same time harder time starting off? I would think if it did free up, it would start easier.

In terms of your overflow line, the other time when the level may very aside from return output (resulting in greater flow to your stand-by drain), is if the primary isn't siphoning as it normally does. Not saying this is your case, just looking at from a different angle. I know sometimes PVC gets a good build up that sometimes free itself.
